This 76 yrs old Sikh runs Delhi’s only ‘auto ambulance .
His auto might look like any of the thousands on Delhi roads, what he does might impress you. “Free ambulance for injured in a road accident” is scrawled in bold red above the window. He is perhaps the only ‘auto ambulance’ in the city. Singh has helped save hundreds of lives. He helps one victim a day on an average.
People die on the road just because of the smallest reason for not getting timely help. People stand and look at them dying. He doesn't wish to be one of them.
This septuagenarian works extra hours to make some money so that he could refuel his vehicle and roam around accident-prone areas in the city.
He uses whatever money people donate to buy medicines for accident victims, apart from giving out free diabetes medicines to anyone who asks for it.
For him, there is no bigger happiness than saving lives!
